Hello list,
is there anybody using SugraCRM to power an inbound call center? Which
kind of integration are you achieving?
Easiest way to integrate I have found is to write a PHP script that flash
operator panel calls. That way you take the data in, do any logic/scraping
necessary to find the page url etc and then redirect to it.

I don't think it's hard to do; I was wondering which functionalities of
Sugar you were using - you call it with a search for the Caller*ID
asterisk received? and how do you handle agent sessions?

I find SugarCRM to be way too slow to be useful on incoming calls. Don't get me wrong, SugarCRM is awesome for 99.99% of applications. Alas, I have done testing on a rather powerful box (benchmarked over db 400 queries per second) and tried turning Apache and PHP and just simply couldn't pull up the application in under 3 seconds after call arrival. I am currently writing an AJAX app just for this purpose.

Yes, it might take a while to start up. But it likely depends on how big
your call center is. Maybe it is possible to start only a "front door"
that start very fast and then launches Sugar itself, so at least the sales
rep sees the name of the person calling while Sugar is initializing.
