I found some errors in the Draft version of the V2 handbook.
on p2, stating "This document may not be duplicated, copied or
redistributed in any form electronic or physical, without the prior
written consent of Digium Inc." is a bit meaningless as the document is
distributed in PDF and you can download it and print it.
Maybe the wording should be changed such that it cant be changed etc
without permission, and can only be distributed in original form, with
all copyrights etc maintained.
Chapter 1
1.1
2nd para
Change to: -
Traditionally, telephony products are designed to meet a specific
technical need within a network, however many telephony applications
share a great deal of technology and Asterisk takes advantage of this
synergy to create a single hetrogenous environment that can be molded to
fit any particular application, or collection of applications, as the
user sees fit.
1.3 Licensing
2nd para
The GPL does not extend to hardware or software that Asterisk talks to,
e.g. a SIP soft phone client used as an Asterisk client does not need to
be distributed under GPL. Additionally AGI applications, which are simply
launched by Asterisk and communicates with them, may be covered by their
own licensing regimes.
3rd para
For those applications in which the GNU GPL is not appropriate (e.g. because
of some proprietry linkage), Digium Inc is solely capabable at their
discression of licensing Asterisk outside the terms of the GPL. For
further information on Asterisk licensing, please contact

I don't right off recognize your name so I am assuming you are
relatively new to asterisk. If you care to look back maybe a year or so
ago you will see a long drawn out whine-fest regarding that statement.
Please refer to that commentary before continuing on that course.
Also, this isn't for work on the handbook. This is for a separate book
project. You are more than welcome to jump into this project and help
out.

Digium wrote that draft so I guess bother them but I doubt they will be
too concerned about getting it fixed that fast.

If you don't have anything constructive to say, don't say it.
Go play with your fork.
