Leif talked about 10-15 people.
I've got myself one colo server at ev1 in TX, about 8+ gbit backbone and
the server connected with 100 mbit, but no phonelines connected, so the
only way i could pipe people in is fwd with the access services (ipkall,
calluk), that they provide, or (which probably anyway is happening) that
everybody dials in via iax.

via some pretty big pipes to the rest of the IP and PSTN world.
How many people are you expecting to be in this conference?

I have a spare machine at ev1 as well but i also have a toll free # from
nufone over iax. Of course that would run me 3 cents a min but I do have
1.

I guess if you think of it that way. Probably more truth to the fact
that bandwidth and termination costs money and it's hard to find people
who can spare it.

Anybody else see the humor in this thread? We can't find a phone system
to talk about...writing about phone systems.

Exactly. EV1 at least is pretty decent in their pricing. I only have one
(german) colo, that has cheaper traffic pricing than them.
Matter of fact. I'm currently setting the asterisk up on a dedicated ip
(including ip accounting to see, how much bandwidth this will cost us. good to
know in the future.) on my ev1 box with iax, sip and h.323 and we can use it for
now. I've got plenty of spare bandwidth at the modem and the box is a dual xeon,
so no problems there.
Also i'm putting a document together, what will be needed to connect to it on
sunday.
The toll free would be a good one, but i would say it's a bit costly affair. In
the US most people (which i know at least) anyway have a flatrate locally, some
even nationwide and if it costs you a couple of cents to call into the
conference, whatever. There is allways the possibility to hook in via any of the
ip protocols.

I have a 1.7 celeron that i need to cancel there in 2 wks so the
bandwidth is pretty much unused since I've moved to other facilities
better for my needs and costs. Only used 20 gigs so far and it comes
with 1000 GB transfer a month.
Up to you guys what you use just wanted to offer.
