I'm trying to use Xuggler (http://www.xuggle.com) to create videos to use with * & app_mp4, however currently
it cannot embed H263 in MP4 container (by design). It can embed MPEG4 in 3GP container though, but I can't get the video
to show on my softphone (X-Lite).

The video codecs in X-Lite are H263 & H263+, so I guess that is why :)

Are there other softphones supporting MPEG4 out there? Or is this an uncommon feature? It seems that mobile phones with
video do support the 3GP formats (MPEG4).

TIA
/Rob

Kapanga support MP4 video in its paid version.

http://www.kapanga.net

Linphone also which is Open Source should support

Also : make sure that you have an asterirk 1.6 otherwise, no support for
MP4 video codec.

I suspect that you are confused between MPEG4 as a video codec and MPEG4
as a container. The best in your case would be to have H.263 embedded
inside and MPEG4 container.

No, I think I got that covered :) Problem with Xuggle was that I couldn't encode H263 inside MP4 container, however
MPEG4 encoding in 3GP container works, but X-lite cannot decode that so thats a route I won't travel...

BUT I got it to work with: H263 encoding in 3GP container, and hinting the video track with mp4creator (unfortunately
I need to post-hint with mp4creator as Xuggle/ffmpeg don't support it yet).

So it works fine now with X-lite :)

Thnx!
