Hi,
Can anybody tell me how to play a video file with asterisk. I have all the dialplan configurations correct and the phone has a call established with video codec as h263.

I have the video file (.h263 file converted with ffasterisk from avi) as well as audio file (.wav file converted with ffasterisk and sox for correct clock rate) in the right path.

I tried with both Playback and Background. But, playing the video or audio doesn't really work. I am working on asterisk 1.6.0.3.

I couldn't find any conclusion of a similar discussion on this group either. Does the video playing and recording work at all on asterisk 1.6?

Thanks,
Sai

Hi Sai,

What is the Payload used for your video calls ?
In the native Asterisk : Support h263 (associated to RFC2190) and h264
(associated to RFC3984).
Check it that is in your configuration.
(mp4 tools only support the h263p (associated to RFC2429)).

Regards,

Borja from i6net
