I think nufone.net might help you.

Hi All,
Does anyone know of a decent itsp that can provide a Scottsdale, Arizona
DID, preferably with no 'plan' but just minutes used?

They don't have arizona DID's, and I did a brief stint with them and
will never do business with them again. I would go to a telco before I
got to nufone.

I use several ITSP's - I was going to use nufone for my folks when they
are in Arizona (they are Canadian snowbirds) and got them a US48 800
number.
Lets just say that they are extremely unprofessional. I hadn't even
received my first call before realizing that I did not want to ever have
to resort to needing support from them.
That and some tehnical issues (I couldn't get through on their number
all day yesterday) and garbled responses to 866 numbers directed to
asterisk boxes that were not on the net (no registration) made me
realize that they really don't care about their customers, or their service.
I have a north american 8xx number through Kall8 and they are just a
pleasure to deal with. Of course, its quite a bit more expensive (like
3x) but if the reduction in cost means such a gargantuan backslide in
service, then I say - no thanks. Next ....

I just checked with my folks (who the service is really for) and they
want a 480 number. Teliax doesn't seem to have any numbers in that area
code :(
Thanks,
Tim

I prefer Nufone to all my other ITSPs, and in general have had fewer
issues with them than with most of the other providers I've dealt with.
The list in my case is pretty long.

Of course - If I wouldn't have had the issue in the first place, I
probably wouldn't have known about the service issues. Also, I didn't
come on here all upset trying to sling their name throught the mud.
Since I've had my issue though, I've heard others say similar things,
and that they will be happy to be rid of nufone when there is an
alternative.
I have no doubt that they can provide service - but it won't be to me,
or my customers. I have been in business for myself for many years and
pride myself on my relationship with my customers and vendors. I guess I
just don't understand that mentality, nor do I want to.
Thanks,
Tim
