Mark was rewriting some variables functionality.
Well you can try to "cvs update". If the problem is still there
you can revert to the previous version that will work like this:
cvs update pbx.c -D "a day ago"

Same problem here. I'm using
exten => _123555XXX,5,Dial,SIP/${EXTEN:-3:3}|30
in extensions.conf
This is broken in current cvs, pbx.c from yesterday works fine.

BTW: Bugfix 68 minutes after bugreport! I guess this is a new world
record ;-). Some other company's can't do this in 68 days ;-)
