capitest -u 0 -o valid_number works fine, my cellphone rings. Incoming
calls show up in asterisk and isdndecode - but when I pickup I hear no
audio on both ends. Just some noise when I talk.
I have tried different driver_type's, no success.

hm, I am not sure if that helps you. I friend of mine replaced his Linux
PC now with FreeBSD and everything works fine, with Linux he has only
problems...
It seems to me that the Fritz Card was never designed to use voice with it.
Best regards,
Matthias

Actually we had a very funny day in my company when computers started to
burn as I was testing this card, mobo was being burned when a call was
coming over ISDN line ;-)

But did your friend managed to get hist Fritz Card working in his
Linux/BSD box?

I had, I think 2 years ago Hans on the phone and we both tried to get
the FritzCard working. We got the card working but the quality was
extremely bad and we gave up. I bought then 2 HFC cards (1xTE, 1xNT
mode). Then I never tried it with the FritzCard, sry.
But if anyone here on the list success with a FritzCard please inform me
too.
Best regards,
Matthias

Hi Jakub,
Send an e-mail to the chip-designer, AVM, and ask them to provide me with the
full documentation of their chips, and I will gladly fix those last issues.
Until now they have been completely unfriendly.
The reason AVM Fritz!Card version 2 PCI is supported is that it works until a
certain revision of the card, and then you only get garbage in the one
direction on the B-channel. Fortunately they use some standard chips on the
D-channel, so at least the D-channel is fully functional and supported.
Maybe I should remove support for these cards ?

imo you should, the behavior of AVM and more important, and buggy
working ISDN adapter (which worked with windows as data adapter) falls
usually back to the OS / PBX software and not to the adapter or the
company.

Hi Oliver,
I have now added a note to my webpage that this version of the AVM Fritz card
does not work. Also I have added the words "recommended" and "not
recommended" to the different ISDN device categories.
Currently, from the list of supported chips, I only recommend chips compatible
with the ones from Colognechip.
I hope that will lead people away from buying those other ISDN cards for new
projects.

I have good and bad news. The good is, after many hours of frustration
I've managed to set up my AVM card with asterisk with working audio.
The bad news is - under Linoox (mISDN + chan_capi). It was quite a PITA.
Hans, is it possible to hack mISDN code and see why i4b has audio
problems? I'm setting my pbx under Linux, but I would like to get back
to BSD as soon as possible.
TIA

Could you locate the AVM driver file(s) in the mISDN distribution ?
