The work done by John Martin, aupix in the videocaps branch is now
back again, after a collission in the branch that messed up a lot of
code.
I need testers so I can verify the code before committing it to trunk.
I also need help with adding capabilities for MPEG4 since this has
been added to trunk.
Thanks for your assistance to get this code integrated in Asterisk. It
will really change Asterisk in regards to video and make life more
visual for all of us! :-)
/O

Hi Olle,
I'll be interested in testing and improving it. Could you explain what
are the main changes introduced by this version and how would it
affect both users and developers?
What exactly do you mean by "adding MPEG4 capabilities"?
Thanxs
Sergio

The main change is that we now support fmtp: headers for video
that sets frame size and other attributes.

Check the new files - capability.h and capability.c - we need to be
able to parse mpeg4 capabilities in sdp and negotiate call setups.
Thanks for your assistance!

Hi again,
I have to admit that I have not much idea about what have you been doing on the branch.
For what I've seen you mainly get the data coming from sdp in the a=fmtp
as specified in the rfc and store it in a structure so you can use them when negotiating
with the other end, is that ok?
It's implemented only for SIP or also for H323 and other video capable channels?
but no H263P, have you also changed something in the way h263 is handled?
Thanks
Sergio

Why don't you run a diff and check?

We have done that. I'll send you my capabilities.[ch] tonight.

Right.
It would also enable your apps to access the negociated capabilies by the channels. You would be able to configure the transcodeurs or set the MPEG4 file format options more accuratly.

Hi alls,
Where can we get the full sources of the videocaps.
Does exist a "stable" or a "tagged" version ?
Does exist a tarball ?
Thanks,
Tech from i6net

There is a dedicated branch in the SVN repository (team/oej/

No, it's based on current svn trunk - 1.6

Hi Olle!
What is the current status? Is there a working version for testing?
