Hi,
I need "some" help with the applications form the fontventa-site. There are several problems, which I can´t solve on my own.
At the very beginning I tried to use the app_mp4save/play function. Both are running, but with error-messages. I didn´t care about the error-messages, because audio and video are running. But maybe someone could explain why these errors appear or if I still could ignore these.
These messages are posted by asterisk:
Note: Sound and video are played.
mp4play /tmp/save.mp4
found hint track 2
track 1 soun
found hint track 4
track 3 vide
MP4ERROR: FindTrackId: Track index doesn't exist - track 2 type hint
MP4ERROR: MP4Array::[]: index 4 of 4: Numerical result out of range
MP4ERROR: MP4Array::[]: index 4 of 4: Numerical result out of range
MP4ERROR: MP4Array::[]: index 4 of 4: Numerical result out of range
........
Next step, I like to use some own created videos. I followed the instructions of the MP4-mini-tutorial. And at the end I was able to create a video-file with the needed settings. Unfortunately I am not able to play these videos with the mp4paly application. I know the difference between those files I created on my own and those I saved with the app_save-tool. The difference is the video-codec which was hinted, the save-application is using h263 and the mp4creator is using h263-2000. But I have no idea how to create a file with h263, which can be played by the play-app or how to get the app_mp4play to run a video with h263-2000 codec. I read at the archives that some of you had the same problem, but I can´t find out how they solved this problem.
for example here is the error that i receive, when playing the example from the fontventa-page.
Note: Sound is playing only video is missing.
mp4play /tmp/vxml/sample_300kbit_ulaw.3gp
found hint track 2
track 1 soun
found hint track 4
track 3 vide
MP4ERROR: FindTrackId: Track index doesn't exist - track 2 type hint
There are some more problem I tried to deal with, but for now I think this is enough.

Hi,
Thee logs are from mp4ip and are normal.
About videos, could you post the output of the mp4info <yourfile.mp4> ??

Just to make sure: Are you using a recent version of MPEG4IP tools (1.5
or 1.6.1)?

Hi Klaus,
I use the following version of Mpeg4ip:
tlngtest:~ # mp4videoinfo -V
mp4videoinfo - mpeg4ip version 1.5.0.1
But you and Sergio gave me a new idea, why the system is not working yet. I
run my softphone on a windows system. So is there a possibility that the
video-codec is missing there?

Usually the SIP clients do not use the Windows Video codecs, but have
the video codecs included (e.g. xlite/eyebeam ...) except the SIP client
is based on Microsofts RTC API (e.g. Windows Messenger).

Hi,
now I´ve tried a lot with codec-settings on both sides (asterisk/x-Lite),
but I always receive the same error-message (and video-screen shows nothing

think there is a problem when the sip-client and asterisk are changing the

I think this Unknown RTP codec thing is because of xlite send
proprietary signaling using a dedicated payload type - I always ignored
those messages.

Usually the SIP clients do not use the Windows Video codecs, but have
the video codecs included (e.g. xlite/eyebeam ...) except the SIP client
is based on Microsofts RTC API (e.g. Windows Messenger).

You are right, when I use express-talk with the same videos there are no
such error-reports as there are shown with x-lite. But still there is no
video shown on both sip-phones.
Thanks and greetings

I think this Unknown RTP codec thing is because of xlite send
proprietary signaling using a dedicated payload type - I always ignored
those messages.

Here is a part of what eyebeam is logging. I do not know how to check the
sending of RTP in any other way, except using some special
package-analyzing-software, which is analyzing the hole traffic at the
network.

Some more information. Express Talk is only using h263-codec not
h263-1998/2000. I´ve connected two x-Lite-soft-phones to asterisk. After
that I disabled the h263-codec at both phones and tried to make a video-call
from one phone to the other. The called phone is receiving video but the
calling phone not. I tried that on both sides with the same result.

Use wireshark. Get the RTP ports for audio and video from the SDP of the
INVITE and 200 OK. Then check if there are RTP packets sent to/from the
UDP ports used for the video stream.

Here is the capture that I took with wireshark. The initiation seems to be
fine and at package-line 51 you will find the first h263-1998 package. Note:
192.168.100.225 is the asterisk location and 192.168.100.100 is the
sip-client-location.
HERE IS THE ANALIZING FROM THE ASTERISK WHEN USING THE FOLLOWING COMMNAND:
rtp debug ip 192.168.100.100
...............
Got RTP packet from 192.168.100.100:43884 (type 00, seq 006115, ts
1562080, len 000160)
Sent RTP packet to 192.168.100.100:56818 (type 115, seq 061689, ts

Here is a part of what eyebeam is logging. I do not know how to check the
sending of RTP in any other way, except using some special
package-analyzing-software, which is analyzing the hole traffic at the
network.
Use wireshark. Get the RTP ports for audio and video from the SDP of the
INVITE and 200 OK. Then check if there are RTP packets sent to/from the
UDP ports used for the video stream.

Does Asterisk send video RTP packets to the SIP client?
