Hi all,
I've committed two patches regarding dtmf handling in app_mp4 (to set more digits, store in variable and stop on digit) and the silence AMR frame patch fot audio shortening.
Please, if any of you test them, send feedback to the list.
Best regards
Sergio

Hi Sergio,
I have made tests with your last patchs.
For the app_mp4, I think we will made 2 modifications :
- If no input during the play the variable defined should be clear in
order to qualify the case no input (otherwise the service developer must
do it in the extension script before calling mp4play).
- If you would like to make uninterruptible play, the value 0 set to the
number of digits can be use to define the case (I have made this
modification).
A question,
Will you integrate the modifications associated to the configuration
file (h324m.conf) for the application h324m ?

H263 data to the phone, the video is very blocky,I am using the microsoft
reference software for encoding H263, there was a similar post on this list, can someone
tell me how this can be resolved.

It seems that Microsoft enconding is not doing a very good job and it's encoding some
frames at a higher bitrate than especified.
This happens because they are designed for streaming where you have a buffer in the
player that would "correct" this bandwith increase.
In real time comunications you cann't have this buffer because it will cause a huge
delay in the stream (10-20 seconds).
Best regards
Sergio

Hi Borja,
Regarding the changes to app_mp4, I like then, if you have the patches send them to me
and I'll study them for been commited.
About the configuration file, I've been thinking for some time in including a configuration file
for the h324m library to define some parameters, but i would like it to be a good sollution and
not a quick patch . Another different thing is a config file for the app_h324m that I would not
mind been something simple.
What parameters would they be important? I mean, if it's just for the ALAW|ULAW problem i
don't see much gain. It's something that you have to set once only and not going to change.
Best regards

Hi Sergio,
Here the diff of the integration of the configuration file for the
app_h324m.
This patch allows to set by configuration the law ALAW/ULAW.
I have added a CLI command to reload the configuration.
The configuration file can set the debug mode too.
I can send you the full sources (the mail list have rejected the because
the message is too big).

Borja

Hi Sergio!
If I understand it right then the respective last silence frame will be
stored in a static buffer. I think this will cause problems if you have
multiple concurrent h324m calls, as all the concurrent threads will use
the same buffer.

My proposal to Sergio was:
a) make the static thing const, so it is a good template for all silence
b) store this necessary ID at the channel, or somewhere related to this
instance.
Do you think, this is feasible?
Regards,
Michael
