Hello!

I just found asterisk. And want to try it out, because my interest in VoIP
and PBX systems.
I´m no experienced programmer as I don´t work with programming as my
profession.
My problem is that is all three versions I´ve tried compiles nice and
cleanly.
But none of then executes. Just core dump.

I´m using both Redhat 6.0 and 6.1 on two different computers.

I can´t seem to figure out why asterisk Coredumps every time I try to
execute it.
Following info from DDD debugger running asterisk 0.1.2pre1

Starting program: /lab/asterisk-0.1.2-pre1/asterisk -dv

Asterisk Event Logger Started
Asterisk PBX Core Initializing
Registering builtin applications:

[Goto]
[Hangup]
[DigitTimeout]
[ResponseTimeout]
[BackGround]
[Wait]
[StripMSD]
[Prefix]
Asterisk Dynamic Loader Starting:
DEBUG: File config.c, Line 142 (ast_load): Parsing
/etc/asterisk/modules.conf

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
__strcasecmp (s1=0x0, s2=0x80556e0 "yes") at
../sysdeps/generic/strcasecmp.c:62
../sysdeps/generic/strcasecmp.c:62: No such file or directory.
(gdb)

In Stack backtrace I can see following:
#4 0x40067cb3 in __libc_start_main () at ..libc-start.c:78
#3 0x8054735 in main () at asterisk.c:196
#2 0x804c55a in load_modules () at loader.c:235
#1 0x804d5fe in ast_true () at config.c:74
#0 __strcasecmp () at ..strcasecmp.c:62

I think it has something to do with the kernel och libc
I´ve tried with both kernel 2.2.10 and 2.2.12
I hopa I have included enough information for anyone to have an idea of
what´s wrong.

Regards, Magnus

Did you do "make samples"? It sounds like your modules.conf isn't good,
although asterisk should report that instead of core dumping. Send me
your modules.conf off the list and I'll review it.
