Hi,

I went through the gruelling process of getting SIP on the phone so it can work with Asterisk. It had that protocol application invalid error, and I tried updating to the 8x versions and it kept cycling through the update process via tftp.

Anyway, I downgraded to 6.3 and it settled. Registered to Asterisk (don't forget to nat_enable: 1 in SIPDefault). Made calls.

However, the first few test calls I made. I'd do it through speaker to my cellphone. I'd hear the dialtone, both on speaker and the handset but as soon as I let it go to voicemail on the cellphone, I hear a "click" sound on the speaker of the cisco. But can't hear my voicemail message.

No voice transmission works at all.
Then tried calling into the cisco, same stuff. A few calls later and no voice/sound, I heard loud crackling sounds from the speaker, and then it kept going on.

Tried to update it to 7x, and then 8x, and it did the cycling thing so I went back to 6.3.

No sound AT ALL. Not even dialtone anymore.
What could be wrong?
