3.1.7. SNOM360 SIP softphone

We suppose that you have already installed Asterisk and registered the extensions and users that we did. You also have to download the softphone from http://www.snom.com/ and install it.

To register a SIP user go to Settings (the last button in the 1,2,3 row) in the menu choose Identity as shown below. You can scroll through the menu by clicking the up or down arrow at the bottom of the display.

If you want to register a new user go to Register User and if you want to edit already existing user choose Edit Users

So if you want to create a new user, then use the following form - user @ asterisk ip address i.e. ivan@10.3.3.25. Your asterisk IP address will be different.

After the user is registered the telephone looks like the one below.

And now you can dial anybody from the context by just entering the number you want to dial.

For information how to make the configurations in the Asterisk's configuration files please read our tutorial about the Configuring IP Phones for use with Asterisk

but the soft phone does not contain any ldap-function, does it? i did not find it yet... also i've got problems concerning setting and using action-urls with the softphone. it works with the hardware-phone, but with the soft phone there's no action if i point onto P2 after i have set it as an action url pointing to my phonebook... any idea?
thx!

Wow - it looks exactly like the real one. I have one here if anyone has questions about it.

Because it is a softphone. (you can download it from the snomwebsite).

It also exists as a real phone and should have the same behaviour, but we dont have one in the lab.
