Specifically the 1.4 packages should resolve some grave build problems.
One major changes I forgot to mention:
while patches/asterisk.patch is still included, it is note used.
Instead, we use three parts of it:
1. asterisk-zap_bri_euroisdn.patch
Most of the changes related to BRI support and improved ISDN stack.
2. asterisk-zap_gsm.patch
Support for Junghanns GSM cards. May be dropped in the future as I
have no such hardware to test with.
3. asterisk-feature_holdedcalls.diff
An extra feature that the chan_zap changes implicitly rely on.
The credit for breaking the BRIstuff asterisk patch to parts goes to
Faidon Liambotis of Debian. The Debian Asterisk package currently has
all of them available:
This means that most of the extra functionality of BRIstuff will be
missing. Sadly you won't be able to use Segfault() from the dialplan. I
believe that any such functionality that is actually being used should
be added separately to Asterisk.
