Hi everyone,
one of our customers in France is a business center where several companies
are sharing the same facility incl. a traditionnal PBX.
We have been asked to propose a replacement Asterisk configuration but,
eventhough we know how to implement single-company Asterisk configurations,
it will be the first time we have to implement a multi-company solution
running on the same Asterisk server.
Each company should only be able to manage their own virtual Asterisk pbx.
Does anyone have experience with that kind of scenario? Does native Asterisk
support that or is there additionnal software required?
Many thanks in advance.
Etienne

This allows me to specify, by ATA (in this instance), a particular script to
run. That way, I can break out different functionality. Used in conjunction
with different contexts, and different configurations for each peer, you can
customize like you want.

This sounds like a -users question to me, but you can, of course, run
multiple asterisk processes on the same box, using different
asterisk.conf files, and different directories for configs.
(we do this all the time, for VoIP-only asterisk setups).

Hi,
I think about this for a long time. It is true that we can run multiple asterisk processes on the same box. But how about share 1 Pri Line for multicompany. As I know, Zaptel can not support DID routing.
Any suggesion?

You don't need to run seperate processes, just place the calls for each
company into a seperate set of contexts and asterisk can keep it split
that way.

Thanks, Duane
But how to do the DID routing. How can I bundle different DID numbers to different context?

You're kidding right?
like.. you really ARE kidding, right?
Before anyone else jumps in and gives you a really hard time (or ignores
you (if they're feeling nicer)) I'll jump in and tell you that Asterisk
supports DNIS right now. Stick your PRI in a context then use explicit
matches or pattern matching to route calls to phones, applications, other
contexts, whatever..
