Ok, so this as put off for a LONG time... But its done now! :)
Changes to http://www.asteriskdocs.org/
* Changed book links for html and pdf versions to point directly to
the file and not the dir.
* Added more links to other web sites.
* Added information on how to get to the mailing list.
* Added how to get the docbook files via cvs. (Both anon and author
access)
* Formating changes.
Please take a look and let me know if anyone can come up with any other
information that should be included.
ToDo:
* Find someone to make this site look pritty!
(I'm not a Web Designer... Just a Web Programmer. We need someone to
build a better looking web site!)
Enjoy!

I'd be willing to get it redesigned by someone on my staff
and donate it to the project.
E-mail me privately more of what you had in mind

I'm thinking some sort of blog type website that can automatically post the
changes to CVS on the main page would be very cool. Also, if the authors
could also log into the website and write news about what is going on would
also be very cool.
Just some thoughts,
Leif.

Going all out Leif aren't we =)
I have a custom News script I did for once of my sites so I guess it
wouldn't be too hard to make that reality just need to look into the CVS
side of things.

I try not to hold back :)
I mean, a very simple interface would suffice, and anything that is
committed to CVS is posted to the mailing list, so perhaps that would make
it easier? (Just use the mailing list posting...?)
Was just a thought, I'll let you know if I come up with any more :)
Maybe we can also setup an RSS feed for the news being posted to the
asteriskdocs.org site :)
Leif.

Please use a standard script that support RSS so I can track it on other
sites as well as in my tracking software...
I use B2 all the time. See http://www.voip-forum.com for an example ;-)
Shameless plug, but, well, anyhow.

To each his/her own. I'm writing support to all my stuff anyway for my
own tracking in Evolution but any suggests of prefab'd to use would be
good here too. For my own projects I can't seem to find something that
cover my needs out of the box but for Asterisk Docs I can seee where
some of the basic prefab'd ones will cover the needs just fine.

Here are my two cents, before taxes:
1) A way to tell which person (or people) have been assigned
responsibility for a certain section. For example, it would be really
cool to know that John Doe and Mary Smith are working on chapter 3.
2) Some kind of news/blog/updates so people know what's being worked
on, and what's being discussed, even if they're not on the mailing
list. After all, the mailing list has been all but dead for the past
couple months (no thanks to me).
I'll probably come up with more things I'd like on the website once I
think about it for a while...

I think the ability to "check out" a section of the docs would be amazing.
Just something simple might work... would be really nice if it could update
dynamically based on the TOC.
Leif.
