I'm looking for a cheap solution to provide a simple menu system with
voice mail capabilities. I downloaded/built asterisk-0.1.2 and tested
it using the console option, and it seems like the right tool for the
job. Can anyone suggest a compatible interface board (Full duplex modem
maybe?) I only need one incoming line (POTS)

Our Internet LineJACK would do the trick, but it's $299 retail.
If all you need it for is traditional CTI, then a voice modem
might do it for you for a lot less. If you want compressed
codecs and such, then our board becomes a much more viable
option.
