As you could see from the changelog of the Junghanns
bristuff-0.4.0-test5, practically all of my changes were merged there
(not to mention many other useful fixes). Sadly I have not been able to
be in touch with him since.
The CHANGES entry reads:
0.4.0-test6-xr1
- Zaptel 1.4.8
- Disable most API-breakages of bristuff. Including BRI holded
calls.
- Improved download script to safely only download once from
downloads.digium.com, even though it lies about the time.
- Update zaptel/ztcfg-start_stop for the newer zaptel.
- Improved usage of compile.sh script.
- libgsmat can install to a INSTALL_PREFIX (in a lame way).
- Improve prereq.sh script on redhat and Debian.
Another change you can see, are the many remmed-out patches in the
asterisk patches directory:
(If this format looks familiar - this is indeed the format of quilt.
Quilt is used for working on the patches. But it is not needed to build
bristuff)
I have encountered unexplained crashes when trying to handle holded
calls (from an ISDN hpone connected to an ISDN NT interface on the
card). And the holded calls feature is also something that forced me to
use the unique ID changes, which I tried to avoid to reduce the impact.
Another problem is that I was unable to apply the gsm support patch
cleanly as a result. I suppose that I could have fixed it enough to get
it to build. But I don't have the hardware to test it and don't know it
well enough. Thus I opted to disable it for now.
OTOH, I did fix a small thing in the build of libgsmat .
