Hi,
My question is especially addressed to the persons who are using Asterisk
on top of a Quicknet PhoneJack card instead of a soundcard.
- The PhoneJack PCI card is successfully installed (RedHat6.1 / driver
0.3.18).
- Asterisk (0.1.2) is successfully built and installed ("make" and "make
install" OK)
Upon launching asterisk (./asterisk -vvvc) I get the following error :
file chann_oss.c, line 327 (soundcard_init) : unable to open /dev/dsp : no
such device
[although /dev/dsp exists]
A failure related to "soundcard_init" is fairly logical to me as I don't
have a
soundcard at all
=>
How can I make a build of "asterisk" without links/references to a soundcard
configuration ?
(I can't find the file "chann_oss.c" anywhere on the disk)
Can anyone of the Asterisk-Phonejack users help me ?
Thanks a lot,
Geert

Yes, simply write into "/etc/asterisk/modules.conf" a line:
noload=chann_oss.so

Yes, simply write into "/etc/asterisk/modules.conf" a line:
noload=chann_oss.so
I already tried this out before I sent this request for help.
So I couldn't understand why it persisted on loading these soundcard files.
The problem was a TYPING error :
instead of
noload=chann_oss.so
it must be
noload=chan_oss.so
Thanks very much for your reply, and I hope via this final reply that no-one
else
makes this stupid error anymore.
