-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
I am new to Linux telephony. I wouldn't mind some advice from more
experienced folk about what is the best way to set up Asterisk PBX in a
very small office with probably only two, analogue, phone lines (because
the alternatives are all two expensive in Australia for a small office).
I am thinking of having a PC as a PBX server running asterisk and with a
couple of winmodems in it and PCs on the network with duplex sound cards
and headsets. Would Internet Phonejack cards be better - either in the
server or on the workstations? Any other comments or better suggestions?
Currently I just have one line with vgetty on it and an external modem
with a phone plugged into it. I use this as an ordinary phone, answering
machine, and also for fax sending/receipt, and occasional
outgoing/incoming data. Presumably this wouldn't interoperate with
Asterisk?
Sorry to ask such basic questions but I'm still trying to get a handle on
exactly what Asterisk can do and what is the best hardware to use with
it. Many thanks in advance for any advice.
